UP TO 1,500,000 BGN. GRANTS FOR GREEN AND DIGITAL INNOVATION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BURGAS UNIVERSITIES AND SOFIA TECH LABS
04.12.2025, 09:30 - 13:30
ABOUT THE EVENT

Short description

Do you have an idea for a new product/prototype and are looking for funding and a partner? At this event we show who can apply, what is funded, how to plan to reach TRL 5/6, and how to submit to the UNISMS step by step. As a unifying organization, DIGIHUB provides the necessary academic partners in the face of Burgas universities and supports the building of a strong consortium.

Who is the measure for

  • Micro/small/medium enterprises with an innovative idea at TRL 3/4, ready for validation/demo up to TRL 5/6.
  • Teams planning R&D (industrial research/experimental development) in partnership with a higher education institution or scientific organization.
  • Companies looking for a clear path to market (prototype → tests → first customers/supply chains).

Why DIGIHUB

DIGIHUB unites the key scientific partners – the Burgas universities. We structure the roles in the consortium, do TRL pre-check and guide you through the UMIS e-form to submission.

Key facts

  • Candidates: SMEs with a partner – higher education institution/scientific organization.
  • Funding: 100,000 – 1,500,000 BGN, co-financing for companies typically 50–80% (depending on size, type of activities and region).
  • Submission: online via EUMIS until 16:30, 16.02.2026.

Additional information:

What is TRL?
TRL is a scale from 1 to 9 that shows how “mature” a technology is — from a scientific hypothesis to a market-ready product. Typically, projects under the measure aim to move from TRL ~3–4 to TRL 5/6 (validation/demonstration in a relevant environment).

TRL levels (in brief):

  • TRL 1 – Observed scientific principles (idea/hypothesis).
  • TRL 2 – Developed concept and potential application.
TRL 3 – Experimental proof of concept (Proof of Concept) in laboratory conditions.
  • TRL 4 – Laboratory validated prototype/module (integration of main components).
  • TRL 5 – Validated in a relevant environment (closer to real-world conditions; pilot tests).
  • TRL 6 – Demonstrated in a relevant environment (pre-series/pilot prototype with measurable results).
  • TRL 7 – Demonstration in a real operational environment (near-product).
  • TRL 8 – Completed and certified product/system (ready for market).
  • TRL 9 – Proven technology in real-world use (reference implementations).

Note: “Laboratory environment” = controlled conditions; “relevant environment” = conditions close to real-world use (pilot/test site); “real environment” = real operational conditions at the customer.

What is SNRD?

The Association for Scientific Research and Development (SNRD) is a public benefit NGO that manages and develops the Laboratory Complex in Sofia Tech Park (11 high-tech laboratories) and the Innovation Forum, with a mission to support research, innovation and the competitiveness of Bulgarian science and business. The activity is funded within the framework of the National Roadmap for Scientific Infrastructure 2020–2027 – sofiatechlabs.bg
