On July 18, 2025, at Central Park Burgas, DIGIHUB organized the first-of-its-kind practical training for small and medium-sized enterprises, dedicated to the opportunities for 100% grant funding for cybersecurity measures under the DEP-1.001 program – Support for Improving Cybersecurity in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Republic of Bulgaria. The event brought together representatives from companies across various sectors who, over the course of one intensive day, acquired key knowledge and finished the day with fully prepared project proposals ready for submission.
Training and Real Value for Business
The event kicked off with a module dedicated to cybersecurity fundamentals – recognizing phishing attacks, viruses, system breaches, and practical incident response. Participants engaged in interactive demonstrations and real-world case studies designed to prepare their teams for responding in critical situations.
The morning module lecturers were:
- Petar Anastasov – coach of the national cybersecurity team
- Georgi Balev – cybersecurity expert with many years of practical experience
The afternoon session was dedicated to a practical workshop led by:
- Ina Agafonova – member of the DIGIHUB Board of Directors
During the workshop, each company went through:
- A basic cybersecurity audit
- Individual consultations with experts
- Completing and finalizing all application documents for the program
- Budget preparation and selection of suitable technical solutions
By the end of the day, each company had a ready project proposal fully compliant with the requirements of the open call under the Digital Europe Programme.

The event provided expert support and high-value services that DIGIHUB offers to Bulgarian SMEs as part of its European mission. Participants will continue to receive individual consultations, including:
- Preparation of the technical part of the proposal
- Finalization of the application form in the submission system
- Support through to successful submission
Huge Interest and an Upcoming Second Event on August 5
Due to the great interest in the training, DIGIHUB announces a second edition of the event, scheduled for August 5, 2025, again at Central Park Burgas. The focus remains on the practical approach, expert support, and the real opportunity to access European funding for digital business protection.
