Project Abstract:
The 5GEDGE4HEALTH project aims to deploy 5G and Edge infrastructure for healthcare in the Burgas region, enhancing access to medical services and facilitating telemedicine. The main goal is to build modern network facilities—including 5G base stations, IoT sensors, and Edge computing systems—across 34 settlements. Two pilot scenarios will be tested: virtual medical consultations via secure video calls and real-time monitoring of chronic diseases using IoT devices. Real-time data processing and automated anomaly detection will enable faster and more efficient responses in critical situations, reducing the burden on the healthcare system. The project is coordinated by Vivacom Bulgaria EAD, with DIGIHUB leading communication and dissemination activities.
