On the 5-th of August, leading experts from Brussels will present the future research and innovation program “Horizon Europe” at the seminar organized by the Burgas Free University and the Southeast Digital Innovation Hub. The seminar includes the topics regarding the policies and financing of scientific research and innovations of the EU during 2021-2027; The European innovation council: results and perspective; future missing, the place of the maritime topic and intelligent specialization; good practices of a joint venture ЕCSEL; digital innovation hubs – the example of Southeast DIH.
The topics will be presented by Docent Evgeni Evgeniev, head of the Science Department of the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Bulgaria to the European Union, Mrs. Elitsa Beyska, Program Coordinator for the SME Instrument, Accelerator of the European Innovation Council in the Executive Agency for SMEs to the European Commission, Prof. Dr. Milen Baltov, Vice-Rector of BFU and IRISI project manager under the Science Research Fund, Docent Georgi Kuzmanov, program coordinator of ЕCSEL in Brussels and Mr. Petko Georgiev, Director of ICT Cluster Burgas. The seminar will enable the participants to receive the most up-to-date information from the negotiation process under the “Horizon Europe” Framework Program and characteristics of the financial instrument of the European Innovation Council and Joint Undertaking for Electronic Components and Systems, which aims to fund high-tech research projects but also support for start-ups with innovative ideas, which present projects at a lower level of technological preparedness. Future opportunities will also be discussed for the consolidation of the research and innovation system of Bulgaria, which needs to increase its competitiveness when applying for EU-funded projects.
The seminar will be held in Conference Center 2 of BFU from 13.00 PM on the 5-th of August and will present topics from the work on the project “IRISI” under the “Scientific Research” Fund.
