Petko Georgiev – Chairman of the Southeast Digital Innovation Hub presented the inclusion of Burgas in the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN)
At the DigitalBurgas conference, which is organized by the Municipality of Burgas, with the participation of ministries, regulatory bodies, municipal administration and municipal councilors, municipal enterprises and regional mayors, representatives of the ICT sector, telecoms, investors, the banking and academic community.
The Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is the European Commission’s main tool for implementing its policies to support small and medium-sized businesses in Europe and aims to increase the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises by providing integrated advisory services in the field of technology transfer, innovation and business. It started in parallel in Sofia and Brussels in 2008, when it united the previous European Innovation Centers (IRC Network) and Euro Info Centers and is currently represented in over 600 organizations on the territory of 66 countries.
The network covers the whole of Bulgaria with offices in the cities of Burgas, Varna, Gabrovo, Blagoevgrad, Sofia, Ruse, Stara Zagora and Plovdiv. For the first time, Burgas is also a point of it.
The Southeast Digital Innovation Hub /DigIhub/ is a network partner for the Southeast region. The Hub was established in 2020 by the Municipality of Burgas, “Industrial and Logistics Park – Burgas” AD, University “prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”, Burgas Free University, ICT cluster-Burgas and DINT Foundation.
The mission of DigIhub is to support the digital transformation in the Southeast region, to stimulate the effective technological development of enterprises, as well as to create opportunities for building and increasing the digital competence of businesses and the public sector, and to create networks of partnerships.
As part of the European Business Support Network, DigIhub will assist Bulgarian business and research organizations to increase their competitiveness and access European and global markets by providing integrated services for business cooperation and innovation. As part of the DigIhub Network, it will actively work for the Bulgarian business to find the right partners and to succeed in producing and distributing its products through access to new markets. Companies will have the opportunity to discover the technologies they need to drive innovation in their business, as well as collaborate on research and development projects.
